How started:
Source: J.L. Hudson

Started from seed in the 80's. Took 15 years to make the first crop of pinenuts. Most of the pinenut shells are blank. I found a seedling of this tree in 2003, and that second generation seedling has its first cones in 2012. Only 9 years. It takes two seasons to make a pinenut from pollination to harvest.
