Mellows to a slightly sharp, fine-textured fruit. Is now the most commonly grown pear in Italy. This pear derives its name from Abbé Fetel, the French Abbot who developed the cultivar in 1866 in Savoie. Fruit shape is often long and narrow, and the color is yellow.
