How started:

Very productive in Edmonds. One plant has been divided into three. Good mixed with gooseberries and currants to make a colorful, sweet, tart jam. From a breeding program in Oregon. The name comes from ORegon+United+States. There are others in the ORUS series, but ORUS8 is the most popular. It is a cross of three Ribes species: R. nigrum × R. divaricatum × R. uva-crispa.
